The TU-TUAT joint workshop "Natural Disasters and Their Countermeasures from the Perspective of the Interrelationship Between Human and Nature" to be held.

Disaster Risk Reduction is important for achieving sustainable resources use/utilization and realizing safe and secure society. 3 elements: Hazard as natural process/phenomenon and Vulnerability/Exposure based on society condition are important to reduce disaster risk. Particularly, in recent disaster cases, unrespectable natural hazards, such In this workshop, young researchers will gather to discuss the future direction of our research and disaster management strategies to prepare for increasingly complex natural disasters, with a focus on identifying and solving issues related to disaster management in both human and natural settings using an interdisciplinary approach.
This workshop is jointly organized by the students from Tohoku University WISE program for Sustainability in the Dynamic Earth and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology WISE program of Excellent Leader Development for Super Smart Society by New Industry Creation and Diversity.
In the Session 1, Mr. Kenta Koyanagi from Public Works Research Institute and Mr. Taku Shiono of KPMG Japan will be invited to speak on their research and business, as well as on social implementation and other topics. In sessions 2, 3, and 4, 12 students from each university's WISE program will give speeches.
